Note from the Host

The Chapel Hill Breast Cancer Foundation(CHBCF) is proudly celebrating 28 years of supporting breast cancer research at Duke Cancer Institute, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.

Founded by three women who were each diagnosed with breast cancer and treated at these institutions, CHBCF has since raised over $1 million to advance critical research at our local universities.

Each year, the Foundation hosts its signature fundraiser, “Tee It Up! for a Cure,” a golf tournament and auction held at Croasdaile Country Club in Durham. This year’s event was another tremendous success—please take a moment to hear from Ginny Meihaus, Event Chair, as she shares her message of gratitude and hope.

Croasdaile Country Club: A Premier Golf Destination in Durham

Established in 1966 by Drs. Frances and Herbert Fox on land inherited from Frances's father, John Sprunt Hill, Croasdaile Country Club has been a cornerstone of Durham's community for over five decades. The club's name, "Croasdaile," was inspired by an Irish family the Hills met during a trip to Ireland. Designed by renowned architect George W. Cobb, the course was later renovated in 2002 by John LaFoy, a former associate of Cobb and a notable architect in his own right.

The Golf Course: A Challenge for All Skill Levels.

Croasdaile's 18-hole, par 72 course offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for golfers of all abilities. Spanning from 4,225 to 6,960 yards, the course features wide, tree-lined fairways and large, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on seven holes, adding to the strategic complexity. The course is meticulously maintained, with A1-A4 Bentgrass greens and newly renovated bunkers, ensuring a premier golfing experience.

Comprehensive Amenities.

While golf is at the heart of Croasdaile, the club offers a range of amenities to its members. The clubhouse serves as a social hub, providing both fine and casual dining options in a relaxed atmosphere. For those interested in racquet sports, the club boasts year-round tennis and pickleball programs, featuring four clay and two hard courts. A new pool complex, currently under construction and expected to open in 2025, will include multiple aquatic zones, a lap pool, and a splash pad for children.

A Community-Centric Legacy.

Croasdaile Country Club is more than just a recreational facility; it's a community. The club's rich history and commitment to fostering relationships among its members have made it a cherished institution in Durham. Whether you're a seasoned golfer or someone seeking a place to connect with others, Croasdaile offers an environment where tradition and community thrive.

Heartfelt Thanks to All Who Made It Possible

To our players and participants:
Thank you for stepping onto the course, bringing your energy and camaraderie, competing with heart, bidding generously, and staying for the reception. Your presence turned a beautiful day on the green into a powerful day of purpose and hope. Each swing, each conversation, each bid truly mattered.

To our sponsors and donors:
Your support is the foundation of this event. In 2025, your generosity helped us continue our mission of funding critical breast cancer research across North Carolina. Your commitment ensures that the Chapel Hill Breast Cancer Foundation can uphold its longstanding promise: that 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to early-stage breast cancer research at Duke, UNC, and Wake Forest. Your belief in our cause drives real progress in the labs and brings real hope to families across our state.

To our volunteers, organizers, and the Dedication Committee:
Your behind-the-scenes efforts—managing registration, course signage, auction setup, dedications, raffles, reception logistics, and more—were the heartbeat of this event. The Dedications Program was especially moving: as players passed the personalized signs placed in memory or in honor of loved ones, we were all reminded why we gather year after year.

Honoring the legacy of one of our co-founders this year was deeply meaningful. Her vision and compassion continue to guide our mission and inspire the work we do every day.
